Federating Scholarly Infrastructures with GraphQL

چکیده
A plethora of scholarly knowledge is being published on distributed infrastructures. Querying a single infrastructure no longer sufficient for researchers to satisfy information needs. We present GraphQL-based federated query service executing queries numerous, heterogeneous infrastructures (currently, ORKG, DataCite and GeoNames), thus enabling the integrated retrieval content from these Furthermore, we methods that enable cross-walks between artefact metadata across infrastructures, specifically DOI-based persistent identification ORKG artefacts (e.g., comparisons) linking third-party semantic resources taxonomies, thesauri, ontologies). This type increases interoperability, facilitates reuse knowledge, enables finding machine actionable by in global In summary, suggest applying established linked data principles improve its findability, ultimately reusability, i.e., FAIR-ness.

Challenges of Federating National Data Access Infrastructures
X-Road is a secure and scalable database access middleware originally developed in Estonia in early 2000s. In 2014, a decision was taken to also deploy X-Road infrastructure within Finland, hence facilitation cross-national federation. Even though being very close both geographically and culturally, the legislation, technology and best practices used by the two nations differ. This paper discus...
متن کاملNOVI Tools and Algorithms for Federating Virtualized Infrastructures
The EC FP7/FIRE STREP project NOVI Network Innovation over Virtualized Infrastructures explores efficient approaches to compose virtualized e-Infrastructures towards a holistic Future Internet (FI) cloud service. Resources belonging to various levels, i.e. networking, storage and processing are in principle managed by separate yet inter-working providers. In this ecosystem NOVI aspires to devel...
متن کاملA Vision for Open Cyber-Scholarly Infrastructures
The characteristics of modern science, i.e., data-intensive, multidisciplinary, open, and heavily dependent on Internet technologies, entail the creation of a linked scholarly record that is online and open. Instrumental in making this vision happen is the development of the next generation of Open Cyber-Scholarly Infrastructures (OCIs), i.e., enablers of an open, evolvable, and extensible scho...

The Information Inference Framework presented in this paper provides a general-purpose suite of tools enabling the definition and execution of flexible and reliable data processing workflows whose nodes offer application-specific processing capabilities. The IIF is designed for the purpose of processing big data, and it is implemented on top of Apache Hadoop-related technologies to cope with sc...
متن کاملFederating Programs Artfully with DeCo
Program federation is assembling a software system from cooperating but independent application programs. We present DeCo, a declarative framework for specifying and executing federations. Participating programs and data files are described in the functional language Haskell, extended with operations for large-grain program description and coordination. The declarative expression of a federatio...
